Drexel Hill, PA – The AHEPA chapter 445 Thermopylae, hosted it’s annual scholarship luncheon on Sunday this past week. The event was highlighted by 4 scholarships handed out to members of the Greek-American community of Philadelphia.
The award recipients were, Sophia Raptis, Nicolas Tsekouras, Nicolas Millas and Elaina Karayiannis. Each recipient took the microphone and thanked the AHEPA for their scholarship and mentioned where they were either intending to go to college or where they were enrolled.
Following a prayer by member John Onasis, President Basil Karayiannis welcomed the family members and attendees. He discussed the chapters philanthropic endeavors the past year. AHEPA chapter 445, is also recognized for it’s annual track meet that is scheduled to take place, Sunday May 4th this year at Upper Darby, h.s. The annual event is the oldest Greek-America track meet in North America and honors it’s members who created the annual event.
