Upper Darby, PA – Only one team attended the 37th annual AHEPA chapter 445 Track meet. The lone church team, St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox church, came out as the sole representative of the community this past Sunday.

St. Demetrios sent more than 50 kids to the event that is the oldest track meet in North America.

Race after race recorded St. Demetrios as winners. Throughout the afternoon, Dimitri Konstantinidis of the AHEPA placed medals around the necks of the kids, while Greg Vlassopoulos and Basil Koudelis recorded the participants efforts on laptops. The one change the event has seen, is the digital efforts to manage the annual event. Unfortunately, little effort was needed.

Empty bleachers were evident as you gazed across the field. But just inside the gate to Memorial field as you entered, a food concession set up by AHEPA chapter 445 greeted you. And as always, the hospitality above and below was wonderful.
