Cherry Hill, NJ – Cameras were everywhere at St. Thomas Greek Orthodox Church on Sunday, recording every move of Archbishop Elpidophoros of America’s first historic visit to the area. His Eminence attended liturgy service, addressed the parishioners, and then awarded symbolic gifts to Father Christoforos and church parish council President Charles Sandilos of St. Thomas.

He concluded his visit with a series of photo opportunities and swore in with the newly elected Federation of Hellenic-American Societies of Philadelphia and Greater Delaware Valley.

His Eminence became Archbishop of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America on June 22nd, 2019. Since then, he’s been making many visits to churches all over the region. The Metropolis of New Jersey is now under his direct jurisdiction and encompasses 14 area churches.
