Upper Darby, PA – How bout a mid-winter masquerade party? It’s a perfect affair like you’ve never seen before. Come out and celebrate the tradition that’s been around for thousands of years. Join the Pontian Akritai for their 2nd Annual Apokriatikos Dance, on Saturday, February 21, at 7:00 pm. Hosted at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox church in Upper Darby in the big hall, it’s going to be bigger and better than ever.

Dress up in costumes and festive attire. Bring in the new year with the dancing, music and food. Watch The Pontian Akritai Dance troupe perform the ancient theatrical dance of the Deities, symbolizing the traditions of Life.

A full plethora of music will be featured at the big event. Two of the worlds best Pontian singers will take us on a musical journey. Giorgos Sofianidis and Alexis Parharidis will be in town from Greece providing the lyrics of Pontos. While Christos Tiktapanidis and Evangelos Poneres will strum out the music on lyra. Vasilis Economou will thunder out 2015, with the sounds of the daouli and Atlantis of Philadelphia will perform a laiko program throughout the eve. It promises to be an unforgettable night.
