Edison, NJ – The Fifth District AHEPA Cancer Research Foundation hosted its 32nd Annual Fall Gala on Saturday evening. AHEPANS and friends from around the country attended the fundraiser that continues to raise funds for cancer research. Three checks totaling $30,000 were awarded.

AHEPA’s Jimmy Rozanitis, PDG, was the Master of Ceremonies who kicked off the evening by welcoming the guests. The National Anthems of Greece and the United States initiated a gala, followed by the invocation by Father Christoforos Oikonomidis, Chancellor of the Holy Metropolis of New Jersey.

Throughout the evening, many leaders from the Greek American community were recognized and spoke about the importance of cancer research. The order of AHEPA President Jimmy Kokotas closed out the evening with heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and volunteers who continue to fight for a cure.

Foundation grants were awarded again to cancer researchers from Fox Chase Cancer Center, Weill Medical College of Cornell University/Children’s Blood Foundation, and the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey.
