Drexel Hill, PA – If you love outdoor soccer anytime of year, then this club is for you. Last night at Monsignor Bonner football field, the Rose Tree Soccer Club gathered for one of its weekly soccer meetups. On a cold, wet rainy evening, under the lights, these soccer junkies came out to play.
The League is officially under the direction of the Rose Tree Soccer Club out of Media PA. Four teams make up the league that plays in the fall-winter. Every Tuesday night is Bonner Field night. Many members are from the Greek-American community. Ari Poulos and Paul Giovanopoulos are unofficial league representatives and longtime soccer lovers that have played in many leagues around the Delaware Valley. “It’s a game we’ve been involved with our whole lives”, says Ari Poulos. “If you’re 45 years or older come out and join us for the fun and love of the game”, added Poulis.
The Rose Tree Soccer League also sponsors 4 “Super Cup” tournaments throughout the year at the Rose Tree grounds. Their next tournament is scheduled for Sunday, March 5th. The funds from team play, go to the youth teams of Rose Tree Soccer Club. For more about joining the league or tournament play this winter, check them out online at www.rosetreesoccer.org.
