Media, PA – Great food, folk dancing and plenty of filoxenia. St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Media Delaware County is hosting its annual Greek Festival all weekend long. They call it ”A Taste of Greece.” And it certainly is. With indoor and outdoor dining, your choices to explore Greek cuisine are endless. From Loukoumades made and served hot with honey and walnuts to the overwhelming and oversized lamb shank the Greeks serve it up with pride.

The piercing white towered tent on the campus of this church parking lot rises up amongst the trees and proclaims, the Greeks are at it again. Underneath, rows of vendors featured artwork, Greek sweets and a minimarket of Greek food items to purchase. Next door, the lines flowed out of the church hall where guests waited patiently in line to try the homemade ala carte samples of Greek food.

All fresh, all the time, food is prepared by its parishioners for this wonderful four-day festival that goes on throughout the weekend. With plenty of free parking, games, and rides for the kids, it’s the perfect stop for families this weekend (October 5th through the 8th).
