Upper Darby, PA – The Pontian “Akritai” club house brought in Lent this week with a dance not seen in the Greek-American community of Philadelphia in years. The dance was hosted in traditional fashion, which had the guests dressed in masks and carnival outfits. A special performance by the Pontian Society Dance Group, featured them as “Momogeria”, following in the path of seasonal dancers.
The event feature live music, which includes: Christos Tiktapanidis on Lyra & Evangelos Poneris on Daouli along with Vasilis Ikonomou. Local Greek band, Seizmos was also on hand.
