Deptford, NJ – On Saturday, February 9, the “Kali Parea” celebrated the 10th anniversary of its establishment, at their 3rd annual Luncheon, held at the Adelphia restaurant. Members spouses and guests were in attendance.
A series of distinguished speakers presided over by toastmaster Jerry Karapalides, spoke to the audience about the history of the establishment. The initial core of approximately five people grew into what ultimately became the “Kali Parea,” which now boasts over 30 attendees at each meeting, and many more members. This banquet also featured many of its original founders, including George Kousoulis, Tom Pousatis, and Chris Branas, George Burlotos, Nick Bratis, Harry Kokolis, and the keynote speaker Louis Horiates.
The “Kali Parea” in Greek means good company. It’s an informal group of senior Greek-American men, who get-together once a week for coffee to talk, exchange news, ideas, and camaraderie with their peers. The “Kali Parea” makes their home at St. Thomas Greek Orthodox Church in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.
