Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Egg Harbor Township New Jersey continued to bring a little bit of Greece to the annual Ocean City Block Party this past Saturday.
Now in its 37th year, the annual event is hosted every first Saturday of May. Holy Trinity Church has been bringing our Greek cuisine since the first year. Starting out as the only food vendor, the block party has grown over the years to more than 350 crafters, food vendors, musicians, and kids activities.
The block party stretched out over a mile of downtown Asbury Avenue for the one day only affair. More than 100 downtown stores were open as well with some great sales.
“Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church has been a staple here selling Gyros, chicken gyros, shish kabobs and our wonderful array of Greek pastries”, says Yiannis Kyriakou.
“It is such a great event for our church as it kicks off our summer festivities and gives our customers a taste of Greece. Our booth has always been a favorite here as the lines are very long and we continue to be the busiest vendor here. Our parishioners work hard at this event all year long to help raise money for our church. We have several events throughout the year and we always come together to help,” added Kyriakou.
This is a wonderful family event with so much to do and see as you walk over a couple of blocks of famous Ocean City Boardwalk.
