Kyriakou Michaelides (nee Kantou), 91 of Burlington, NJ, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2020. She was born in Angastina, Cyprus, on February 2, 1929. At the age of 17, she married the love of her life, Michalis Michaelides, and built a very successful brick factory together. They raised their five children in Angastina until they, unfortunately, had to leave their home on August 14, 1974, due to the illegal Turkish invasion of Cyprus. After searching for a new home, they settled in Burlington, NJ, in 1977 and built a new life there.

Kyriakou was predeceased by her siblings Christalla, Andriana, Aglaia, and Nikos. She was a loving mother to her five children, Katerina (Zacharias) Yiasoumi of Cyprus, Christoforos (Eli†) Michaelides of Cyprus, Maria (Alex) Maltabes of Burlington, NJ, Georghia (Fivos) Kurnellas of Marlton, NJ, and Therapon (Ourania) Michaelides of Burlington, NJ. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, Antonia (Jacob), Marios, Kiki (Alex), Michael, Thomas (Efi), Michalis (Tonia), Michael (Marilyn), Michael (Alexia), Anna (Mark), Marios (Litsa) and Michael and also by fifteen great-grandchildren, Styliana, Gabriel, Georgie, Alex, Ioanna Maria, Katerina, Maria, Elias, Christopher, Savvina, Ellis, Christoforos, Georgia, Panagiotis, and Konstantine. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation Wednesday, September 9, 2020, from 10 – 11 am, followed by the funeral at the Greek Orthodox Church of Saint Thomas, 615 Mercer Street in Cherry Hill, NJ.
