December 18th, 2012. This past week friends and Fans of Greek Soccer team Panathinaikos came together at Nova Grill in Villanova Pa. Smiling faces and Shamrocks filled the room while hugs were exchanged over conversations by excited fans. The thought of a Philly based fan club would appear to be a reality. Via Alexander Kitroeff (who appears to be leading the unofficial group) a tweet from President of Panathinaikos Yiannis Alafouzos in Greek that came in that same day read :

The meeting lasted almost 2 hours and conversations about the teams future, history and membership dominated the evening that looked like a scene from a Greek coffee house. The team needs support and fans to step forward and show their solidarity said Costa Xinos, Nova Grill owner and a key member leading the organizing of the fan club.
Panathinaikos (based in Athens, Greece) is the oldest Greek organized team in Greece and one of it’s best. Recent economic problems have plagued the team who has found itself in economic crisis. Alexander Kitroeff, one of the leading organizers spoke about supporting Greek soccer and helping soccer team Panathinaikos of Greece.
