Media, PA – On Sunday, Zephyros Greek Folk Dance Troupe performed the traditional dances and carols to honor the Feast of St Lazarus from the villages of Roumlouki in central Macedonia. “The Feast of St Lazarus and Palm Sunday are important points of joy and reverence along our Lenten journey,” said dance instructor Phil Voutsakis. “Through this performance, we’re reminded that our traditional customs and faith are inseparable parts of being a Greek Orthodox Christian.”
“Likewise, carnival season or a wedding without the traditions would be an undesirable break from the culture inherited from our forefathers. The term Παράδοση implies a handing down of traditions from one generation to another; that’s what we continue to strive for,” added Voutsakis.
