Born in Africa and raised in Greece, Mario Frangoulis is celebrating his 35th anniversary on stage in 2023. Discovered by Sir Cameron Mackintosh in 1988 and signed with Sony Classical New York, he quickly rose to stardom, competing with Andrea Bocelli for the top 3 positions on the Billboard charts for 52 weeks. With 22 albums and 7.5 million sales to his credit, Frangoulis continues to captivate audiences with his mastery of classical crossover music, popular musical theater, and other genres, singing in five languages.

He has performed on some of the most prestigious stages worldwide, including Carnegie Hall, Royal Albert Hall (London), Dallas Opera, Orchestra Hall Chicago, and La Scala (Italy). He has also collaborated with renowned artists such as Sarah Brightman, Placido Domingo, Justin Hayward (Moody Blues), Smokey Robinson, and many others. Frangoulis will perform various emblematic and favorite songs of some of the greatest composers during his upcoming concert in Washington.

As the Global Ambassador for the Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans since 2005, Mario Frangoulis advocates for scholarships to support young people facing adversity in pursuing higher education. He is committed to humanitarian causes and supports organizations such as Unesco’s Youth in Greece, WCCCI, Unicef’s “Fostering a Child,” and cancer awareness programs.

Mario Frangoulis’ upcoming concert will feature an enchanting collaboration with up-and-coming soprano Theresa Carlomagno, known for her timeless vocal artistry. Carlomagno’s repertoire includes notable portrayals of characters such as Adele in Die Fledermaus and Adina in Donizetti’s L’Elisir D’Amore. Her recent acclaimed portrayal of Adina in Norma for the 100 years of Maria Callas opposite Frangoulis as Pollione demonstrated her deep reverence and respect for the composer’s intent, infusing her performances with emotional depth and musical finesse.
