The St. Thomas Greek Orthodox Church in Cherry Hill, NJ, is in the final stages of an Iconography project that beautifully showcases the community’s unwavering faith and dedication. The project has been a resounding success, and now only a few expenses remain.
To cover the remaining costs, the enterprising Andriotisses, the ladies of the Corthion Andros Society, came up with an ingenious idea. They decided to use their skills and time to fundraise for an icon of the island’s beloved patron saint, Saint Prokopios. The ladies’ initiative beautifully highlights the spirit of unity and collaboration that unites the community.
The ladies’ idea to create a “Cut-A-Thon” was a huge success, with nearly two dozen happy clients benefiting from the professional hairstyling services provided by members of the Corthion Society. Two hairstylists, Zafira Paxinos and Anna Lavdas, were on hand to provide haircuts for men and hairstyling for ladies in a full-house response on Monday Night, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, at the St. Thomas Church, supported by the Corthion Secretary, Ana Bousoulas.
Encouraged by the success of the first event, the ladies plan to repeat the “Cut-A-Thon” on April 1st (no kidding!) from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, with two additional Andriot ladies, Sofia Riginos and Effie Lavdas, joining the foursome to donate their time and talent and provide the same services.
