This month, a loft in SoHo will turn into a crossroads of painting, sculpture, ceramics, photography, and design. From September 10 to 30, the exhibition Elements in Harmony will take place in the private studio of sculptor and painter Peter Reginato at 60 Greene Street.
The project is the first organized by Maria Kosmidou under the name ART – Art, Revolution & Trends. Curated by Dr. Sozita Goudouna, founder of Greece in USA, it brings together more than forty artists and designers, including twenty-three from Greece, ten from the United States, and eleven from other countries.
The idea behind Elements in Harmony is not simply to put works on display, but to create a conversation. Ceramics appear next to paintings, jewelry design is shown alongside photography, and each piece becomes part of a wider exchange. Tradition and innovation meet in the same room, showing how art can move between disciplines without losing its core.
The Greek presence is strong and varied. Ceramicists Ilias Christopoulos and Haroula Koropouli show their work alongside younger names like Marita Pappa, who often experiments with sound and text. Peggy Kliafa from Athens presents installations shaped by themes of medicine and faith, while Irini Karayannopoulou continues her collage and video practice. Designers Dora Haralambaki, Vanile on the Rock, and Aelia Selection add jewelry that blurs the line between object and artwork.
International participants include Swedish painter Matthias van Arkel, Austrian artist Hans Weigand (shown posthumously through estate representation), New Orleans abstract painter Regina Scully, and British poet and performer Max Blagg. The exhibition also features work by photographer Marina Vernicos, New York painter Brenda Zlamany, and a selection from Moroccan surrealist Ahmed Yacoubi (1928–1985).
The setting itself plays a role. Reginato’s loft, a cast-iron SoHo space with decades of artistic history, gives the exhibition an intimate scale. After the opening on September 10, visits are by appointment only, allowing for direct encounters with the work in a quiet, focused environment.
Elements in Harmony shows how contemporary art can hold together many languages at once. It does not separate craft from fine art, or local stories from global ones. Instead, it places them side by side and lets the connections appear on their own.
