Cherry Hill, NJ – The Greek Agora Festival returns this October, once again filling the grounds of Saint Thomas Greek Orthodox Church with the food, music, and spirit of Greece. From Thursday, October 9, through Sunday, October 12, the parish will host what has become the largest wine and food festival in the region.
Since 1974, the Agora has been the signature celebration of the Saint Thomas community. Every October, parishioners welcome thousands of guests to share in a weekend that reflects the Greek way of life. The festival brings together traditional cooking, lively dancing, and music, along with the warmth of Greek hospitality. What began as a church fundraiser has grown into a cultural tradition that attracts visitors from across South Jersey and Philadelphia.
Over four days, the church grounds on Mercer Street transform into a Greek village. Guests can enjoy homemade specialties prepared from family recipes, sample wines, shop the bustling marketplace, and take in performances of Greek dance and song. More than just a food festival, the Agora has become a celebration of heritage, faith, and community.
Since 2017, under the leadership of chairman Stathis Karadonis, the festival has combined tradition with innovation. Online ordering, electronic payments, and curbside pickup have made the event more accessible, while an expanded presence on social media has drawn new audiences. These efforts helped the Agora gain recognition in USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice in 2024, underscoring its place as one of the premier cultural festivals in the country.
The 2025 schedule runs Thursday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m., and Sunday from noon to 10:00 p.m. For those unable to attend in person, food is available for online order, pick-up, and delivery.
