St. Anthony Greek Orthodox Church in Vineland, NJ is once again welcoming friends and neighbors to its annual Gyro Festival on Saturday, October 25, from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm at the St. Anthony Greek Orthodox Hall, 310 W Wheat Rd.
The gathering has become a beloved tradition where families and friends come together to enjoy authentic Greek food, fellowship, and culture. Whether you’re craving a classic gyro, a hearty dinner platter, or something sweet, the menu promises to bring the flavors of Greece to Vineland. Dinner platters like moussaka with pita and salad or pastitsio with pita and salad will be available, along with sandwiches such as gyro, chicken souvlaki, or pork souvlaki.
Of course, no celebration would be complete without pastries. Guests will find baklava, galaktoboureko, kourambiedes, melomacarona, and ravani, as well as the crowd-pleasing loukoumades. For anyone who wants to try a little of everything, the Greek Dessert Sampler is the perfect choice. To round out the meal, there will be oven browned potatoes, spanakopita, tiropita, dolmades, feta, tzatziki, and more. A Greek Market in the church basement will also offer specialty items for visitors to take home.
The spirit of the festival is rooted in the parish’s own story. More than 70 years ago, Greek Orthodox families in Cumberland County came together with faith and dedication to build a church of their own. Their dream was fulfilled when St. Anthony’s was dedicated on Wheat Road in 1977, and the parish has continued to grow ever since. Today, that same spirit of community is carried forward through events like the Gyro Festival, which bring parishioners and neighbors together around faith, food, and fellowship.
