The Evangelismos of Theotokos Greek Orthodox Church in Northeast Philadelphia invites parishioners and members of the wider community to take part in its liturgical celebration of the Feast of the Annunciation.
The observance will begin with Great Vespers on Tuesday, March 24, at 6:30 p.m. The following morning, Wednesday, March 25, Orthros will begin at 9 a.m., followed by the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy.
His Eminence Metropolitan Apostolos of New Jersey is expected to preside over the March 25 services, marking the parish’s feast day during the Lenten period.
It falls within Great Lent, a period of prayer and preparation leading toward Holy Week and Pascha.
Fellowship gatherings will follow both services. A light supper will be offered after Great Vespers on March 24, and a luncheon will follow the Divine Liturgy on March 25, sponsored by the Philoptochos Sisterhood and the Parish Council.
