At Evangelismos, the Annunciation Is Marked with Liturgy and Community in Northeast Philadelphia

On March 25, the Feast of the Annunciation was celebrated at Evangelismos of the Theotokos Greek Orthodox Church in Northeast Philadelphia, with His Eminence Metropolitan Apostolos of New Jersey presiding over the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy. Held during Great Lent, the feast commemorates the message of the Archangel Gabriel to the Virgin Mary and remains one of the central observances of the Orthodox calendar.

The celebration began the evening before with Great Vespers and continued the following morning with Orthros and the Divine Liturgy, drawing parishioners and visitors from across the community.

Following both services, the community gathered in the parish hall. A light supper was offered after Great Vespers, while a luncheon followed the Divine Liturgy, organized by the Philoptochos Sisterhood and the Parish Council, continuing a longstanding tradition of parish hospitality and support.
