Astoria, NY – The 2013 Pontian Youth Festival took place in Astoria, New York this past week, bringing together Pontian Greeks from across North America and even from Greece. Sponsored by the Pontian “Komninoi” chapter of Astoria, the festival offered a full weekend of cultural and social events.
Highlights included a scenic cruise around the Hudson River, a theatrical performance reenacting a traditional Pontian wedding, and a lively dinner dance. The celebration drew participants of all ages, with a special focus on engaging the younger generation in preserving Pontian heritage.
Organized by the Pan Pontian Federation of USA and Canada, the annual festival continues to grow each year, strengthening ties within the community and passing traditions to the next generation.
