This past Saturday the metropolitan Greek community of Philadelphia showed off it’s youths artistic skills. They danced, sang, played instruments and showed off a variety of associated artistic abilities in Egg Harbor, New Jersey.
Hosted for the first time at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, more than 250 kids from the GOYA participated in the day’s events, which started at 9:00 am and concluded some 10 hours later. This day was especially significant, as it marked the 30th anniversary of the Delaware Valley Youth Commission, which has been hosting the event “Sights & Sounds” for the past three decades. Awards were given out to individuals and churches. St. George Greek Orthodox church of Media, PA, swept first place as a team and in most of the individual awards.
