It happens once a year and it brings in the Greek community and especially the Pontians. It’s the annual Pontian Akritai of Philadelphia dance and it will be the 74th time this community will gather to celebrate.
The annual event happens at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox church and it packs them in. This year, Stathis Pavlidis (vocals) and Babis Kemanetzidis (lyra-clarinet) will pair up along with local musicians, Christos Poneres (daouli), Evangelos Pesiridis (keyboards) and Mike Pesiridis (daouli). The night promises to be the best night yet.
