Philadelphia, PA – Great food is a staple when you come out to the Greek Festival at Evangelismos Greek Orthodox church on Bustleton Ave. The Spanakopita is strictly home made, right down to the filo dough. Even the Greek women in the kitchen are imported and they make it just like they use to do back in Greece.
This past weekend “My Big Fat Greek Festival” rained in it’s annual fall fest. The kids danced while friendship and hospitality were shared over coffee, souvlaki or even a Greek pastry. The big white tent in the church parking lot sat close enough to the sidewalk where people strolled in from the neighborhood.
If you wanted to feel like you were in Greece, all you had to do was poke your head in and let your senses take over.
