Cherry Hill, NJ – St. Thomas Greek Orthodox Church hosted South Jersey’s largest Greek festival this past weekend, drawing thousands despite forecasts of rainy weather. Over four days, the church grounds were filled from end to end, with long lines of visitors weaving through the tents to sample the homemade delicacies.
An estimated 20,000 to 30,000 people attended, enjoying everything from flaky Greek pastries to sizzling souvlakia — all prepared by parishioners. The festival was a true community effort, with everyone from children to retirees pitching in to support the church.
Two popular Greek bands, Atlantis of Philadelphia and Revma, alternated evenings under the main tent, keeping the crowds dancing to contemporary Greek music. Inside the church hall, traditional dance troupes performed folk dances from across Greece, while vendors offered icons, cookbooks, and Hellenic-themed gifts.
From the food and music to the dancing and fellowship, the festival was a lively celebration of Greek culture and community spirit.
