Rip City 61 vs. Revolution 56
In the game of the night, Rip City improves to 8-5. Don’t forget Rip City, I predicted you guys would go 10-6 and so far you’re on pace! Don’t believe me? Check my posts from earlier this season. George Mashas was aggressive offensively, especially in the second half, where he scored 12 of his 19 points. Mashas didn’t only score, he was constantly working hard on the glass for rebounds. Stef Grigorakakis had a solid game with 15 points. I was impressed with Stef’s relentless effort driving to the basket. Pete Kyriakodis (14pts) continues to be the spark for Rip City, whether it be vocally, hitting shots, or just setting an example with his effort, Pete is a leader. Rip City pulled away with a late game run with some great defense.
These 2 teams are so evenly matched. When at full strength, considering the history the Revolution have and how long they’ve played together, I think they are a bit stronger than Rip City, but that’s one man’s opinion. Gus Rombos may be one of, if not the best player on the Revolution roster, but he was absent tonight. The Rev did have the game in arms reach until late. Matt Horiates stepped up big time with 19 points. Matt shows patience and effort on the court. Pete Kada scores 15 tonight. Pete is having the quietest season of his PGBL career but if the Rev are going to get a win in the playoffs, they need him to BALL.

Spartans 52 vs. Warriors 48
Demetri Zanikos is a very good basketball player. He has only been to a few games this season but I’m sure Jim Contoudis and company are looking to re sign him for next season. Andrew Milonas has arguably his best game of the season with 19 points and some very nice assists. Good job by Drew being aggressive. Henry Harambalides contributed with 11 points including 3 three pointers. Henry has been a sharp shooter the second half of the season. Pete Tsamoutalis was huge tonight from the free throw line, hitting 2 clutch free throws to ice the game! The Spartans’ playoff dreams are done this season, but the future looks promising. Especially if Demetri Zanikos and Jim Kemmerer remain in the starting lineup.
It’s hard to believe just 2 years ago, the Warriors were PGBL champs. But this is a very different roster and though these guys are all friends, this combination of players may not be the right one for success. But hey, I’m just one opinion. Nick Karalis had his best game of the season tonight with 24 points. Karalis was aggressive with the ball whether it was shooting 3’s or driving to the basket. Nick needed this game to remind himself and his team, just how good he can be. Will Galiatsatos had a rough game tonight. Will had a few turnovers I bet he wishes he could get back, especially in a close game. Just 14 points tonight, well below his average.
