Cherry Hill, NJ – HOPE and JOY Walk-a-Thon Raises Funds for Haiti Relief
This past weekend, St. Thomas Greek Orthodox Church hosted a joyful and meaningful event as members of the Junior Orthodox Youth (JOY) and Hellenic Orthodox Primary Enrichment (HOPE) groups from across the Delaware Valley Region came together for a walk-a-thon in support of the “Hands of Humanity” project in Haiti.
The gymnasium was filled with energy as children—dressed in their favorite Philadelphia sports jerseys—walked spirited laps, collecting stickers and points along the way. Each completed circle translated into funds raised, thanks to the generosity of Greek community sponsors, family, and friends.
This marked the first event of its kind for the regional HOPE and JOY ministries, blending fun, faith, and philanthropy. By the end of the day, the children not only raised money but also awareness for a greater cause, showing that even the youngest members of the community can make a real difference.
