Hatboro, PA – The Philadelphia Greek Basketball League (PGBL) will host for the second time, its annual summer basketball tournament on July 19th and 20th at Renegades Gym. Continued growth for the PGBL as a league and philanthropic organization has also brought much attention to the leagues summer tourney. Eight years later it continues to bring together adult Greek men, that meet twice a week at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Upper Darby, Pa. in a well organized and competitive league.

Bill Zonios and John Vasiliou, the original founders of the league have created a summer tournament hosted that is open to the general public. At Renegades Gym in the Philly suburbs, some 16 teams will participate at the weekend event from all over the Delaware Valley.

What’s really impressive here, is how the league opens it’s doors to greater community and how it again, brings together Hellenes. This tournament also brings in members of the Greek-American community from as far as away New York and a regional Armenian and AHEPA team. It truly is a unique event that continues to expand.

You can find out more, by visiting their Facebook page. The tournament is limited to the amount of teams that will be able to sign up, so register your team early to participate.
