This past weekend, the community faced more than the usual festival challenges. Just as preparations were underway, they were met with the heartbreaking loss of their longtime spiritual leader, Reverend Prokopios Nikas. Father Nikas, who served Evangelismos for over a decade, passed away on Sunday, leaving behind a parish deeply rooted in faith and tradition.
In quiet strength, the community carried on. They gathered not just to serve food or perform dances, but to honor a legacy and uphold the traditions Father Nikas helped nurture.
