Wolfpack 78 vs. Warriors 40
39 points in the first half and 39 points in the second half, combined with a solid defensive effort is the recipe for a big time blowout for the Wolfpack. A balanced offensive attack looked as follows: George Vlahos 18pts, Lou Karapanagiotides 15pts, Lou Sarris Grau 15pts, Aris Haritonidis 13pts. George Vlahos is in my top MVP conversation once again this year, as he always is. The Wolfpack’s next game is against Ellas which I expect them to win and move to 8-2, continuing their lead in the White Division until a showdown against Rip City in a few weeks could determine first place.
The Warriors drop to 4-5 after a deflating loss to the Pack. They just couldn’t get anything going and the combined 18 points of Will Galiatsatos and Nick Karalis just isn’t going to get it done. I suggest the Warriors start strategizing for next week, because a red hot Danny’s Boys team is coming in hot! Lets see if the Warriors can put out their fire.
Kings 69 vs. Sixers 53
Bill Zonios has been very efficient of late, leading the Kings tonight with 32 points and some very nice assists which has put him well into my league MVP race once again. Zonios has been progressively improving throughout the season, leading the Kings with multiple 30+ games when they are short handed. Looking forward to seeing how much more he will improve but he is definitely on my radar. Speaking of improving, Jim Kemmerer is having his best PGBL season to date! His 14 ppg average is just part of Jim’s arsenal which includes rebounding, and strong play in the paint, offensively and defensively. Great season for Jim so far as he has gelled perfectly with his new team. There was a Chris Kourelias sighting at the PGBL tonight! Chris is back from an injury and all this does is make the Kings stronger! By the way, the Kings had only 5 players tonight… again!
Happy B-Day to one of the most well known faces in PGBL, Teddy Konstans. Turning 50 is definitely a milestone and what better way to bring in a new decade than with a couple gorgeous finger rolls, just to prove ya still got it! Congrats to a slimmed down TK and hopefully we’ll see you out there at 60! Speaking of slimmed down, Eddie Bekas caught fire from the outside tonight, hitting 3 threes en route to a team high 21 points. Bekas has a new look on a new team this season which seems to be a good fit for him but with the injuries and losses the Sixers have suffered this year, it’s an uphill climb. John Vasiliou had a very good game, playing more aggressively than we’ve seen this year, scoring 15 points to keep the Sixers within striking distance. Next game for the Sixers against Ellas.
All 3 Game balls go to the Birthday Boy Teddy K.!
