Upper Darby, PA – PGBL Playoffs Open with Blowout and Comeback Thriller
The first round of the PGBL playoffs delivered two very different stories on Thursday night at St. Demetrios. While Wolfpack dominated from the tip, Rip City clawed their way back in a dramatic second game to keep their season alive.
Game 1: Wolfpack 70 – Warriors 49
This one was over early. The Wolfpack came out firing, jumping to a 45–15 lead by halftime. The Warriors, usually known for their fight, looked flat for most of the first half. They showed flashes of their former selves in the second, but the damage was done. The Wolfpack now march into the next round with confidence.
Game 2: Rip City 69 – Revolution 65
This matchup had all the drama you could ask for. The Revolution came out hot, hitting from the perimeter and controlling the pace through the first half. They took a five-point lead into the break, but Rip City, playing without star Nick Balis, made key adjustments and chipped away at the lead. A clutch final stretch sealed the deal, and Rip City advanced with a gritty four-point win.
