Upper Darby, PA – Like a big family picnic, the Upper Darby Greek Festival brought together a community for a celebration that was all things Greek. Great food, music and everything in between was on the menu at annual affair that kicks off the season. It all started with a belly full lot of laughs on Thursday night, when comedian and actor Angelo Tsarouchas entertained the community.
Homemade food, both indoors and outdoors was made by the parishioners, that was snatched up by attendees. Tables were full throughout the weekend to watch traditional folk dancing and listen to the live Greek music by Atlantis of Philadelphia, while kids played in the lot above the church entrance that also sold popcorn.
In this corner of Upper Darby, the gateway community of St. Demetrios reminded everyone again why this Greek Orthodox parish is still the place to start of the season.
