Upper Darby, PA – Saint Demetrios Greek school kicked off the new academic year with many changes this month. “Classrooms got a fresh coat of paint, desks and ipads for students to explore the digital world. Our goal for the use of iPads is to instill wonder about Greek Culture with visual clips that promote critical thinking and discovery of all things Greek”, says Sophia Vlastaridou of St. Demetrios. After a summer of regrouping and renovating, St. Demetrios also welcomed newly appointed principal Mrs. Maria Stogiantsakis.
The new school year started on September 11 but new registrations are welcome until early October. With over 100 students and 9 teachers St. D’s school is ranked as one of the best in the Delaware Valley. Classes are held every Tuesday and Friday from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm, and offers students 6 tutorial hours weekly (per class).
