Upper Darby, PA – The St. Demetrios Greek school opened the post-parade reception event with a flag presentation. Master of ceremonies Vasiliki Tsanaktsidou welcomed the guests and honored Evzones. President Stathis Karandonis of the Federation of Hellenic Societies of greater Philadelphia and the Delaware Valley addressed the crowd and spoke about the special occasion, the visit of the Evzones from Greece. The Evzones were then called to the stage for a special introduction to the community and awarded an Icon of the Virgin Mary. Following prayers and commentary from Father Christoforos Oikonomidis of St. Thomas and Father Fr. Georgios Kouzelis of St. Demetrios, twelve dance troupes from various churches performed dances from all over Greece.
