Upper Darby, PA – The battle for No1 in PGBL standings has changed four times in 9 weeks. Last night it happened again. Led by the scoring machine Pete Kada, the Revolution beat the 2016 champion Wolfpack in an exciting matchup that went down to the wire.

Revolution 66, Wolf Pack 63

Buckets were exchanged the whole night in this matchup that went down to the last two minutes. Thanks to a few key technicals fouls by the Wolfpack, the Revolution was able to hold off the Champs from regaining the lead in the final seconds. But there was more to this victory for the Revs. They played solid defense. They shut down the lanes to George Vlahos and frustrated the Wolfpack from out in the perimeter where minimum damage could be done. And the Revs did it without their big men, who were absent. And just for kicks, Pete Kada dropped 33 points on offense. Inside the paint, along the baseline and from outside the three-point zone, the Pete Kada assault struck at will. The victory now puts the Revolution in first place at 7-2 and drops the Pack to second place.

Kings 96, Boardwalk Empire 70

The Kings redeemed themselves with a dominating victory over the Boardwalk Empire. Their offensive attack was unstoppable. Four of their six players hit double digits, and Bill Zonios delivered seven three-pointers as they struck from everywhere on the court. Under the boards, Kalemis and Pagiotas were unchallenged as they kicked the ball out to Bill Zonios on many fast breaks throughout the evening. With Niko Balis and Alex Veronis along for the ride, the speed and transition of this front line rolled over the Empire. Alex Veronis of the Kings led all scores with 30 points.

Lakers 62, Hellas 59

If you love team effort, you have to appreciate these guys. They have never practiced together. But win or lose they play like a veteran team. Maybe the fact that some of them are related has something to do with it. The Armentani brothers are surely part of that chemistry. On the floor, the two find a way to help each other and the team gel. Their young and a team still trying to find their way. But tonight, the Lakers finally brought home their third victory of the year.
