Voorhees, NJ – The Daughters of Penelope Nike Chapter 230 hosted their fall fundraiser at The Mansion on Main Street this past weekend. The event was highlighted by an exceptional performance by the Voloshky Dance Ensemble. Funds raised by the Daughters went to K9’s For Warriors and the Covenant House. This was the sixth Tea Party organized by the Daughters of Penelope, Nike Chapter 230, in support of philanthropic objectives.
Josh Shelton & Duke (the dog), from K9’s for Warriors thanked the crowd for their fundraising efforts. Shelton was a spokesperson and recipient of a K9 that was awarded to him through the program. The dog continues to help Shelton in his day to day activities as he recovers from post-war trauma. Several service awards were also given to members of the Daughters.
