The Pontian Society of Philadelphia “Akritai” recently held its second fundraiser in as many years in support of the Panagia Soumela Monastery in West Milford, New Jersey. The event aimed to raise awareness and financial support for the monastery, which is seeking assistance to meet its mortgage obligations and maintain its facilities.
The effort is part of a broader movement among Pontian organizations across North America, many of which are organizing similar fundraisers to help preserve this important religious and cultural center.
