AHEPA District 4 will host a Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Symposium on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at the Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia, bringing together medical speakers, patient testimony, dinner, and fundraising in support of awareness, care, and research.
The event, themed “Peeling the Layers To A Cure,” will focus on two serious inherited blood disorders that affect families in the Greek-American community and many others beyond it.
Registration and cocktails will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by a sit-down dinner and formal program at 6:45 p.m. Organizers say the program will include presentations on research, treatment, and patient experience, along with personal testimony from people living with thalassemia and sickle cell disease.
The symposium will take place at the Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia, One N. 19th St., Philadelphia, PA 19103.
AHEPA District 4 is encouraging community members, families, and supporters to attend, learn more about the conditions, and contribute to efforts to raise awareness, support care, and advance future treatment.

Registration and donations are available through the official event page.
