It happens once a year and it brings together the Greek community, especially the Pontians.
This will be the 74th time the Pontian Akritai of Philadelphia gather for their annual dance, a tradition that has become a cornerstone of community life.
The celebration takes place at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, and it always fills the hall.
This year, the music will be led by Stathis Pavlidis on vocals and Babis Kemanetzidis on lyra and clarinet. They will be joined by local musicians Christos Poneres on daouli, Evangelos Pesiridis on keyboards, and Mike Pesiridis on daouli.
With this lineup, the night is set to be one of the best yet.
