Backgammon Social Club’s Philadelphia chapter will host a free tavli social on Thursday, May 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Upper Darby.
The gathering is part of the Saint Demetrios Greek Wine and Food Festival and will take place at the Kafenio coffee station under the festival tent. St. Demetrios is located at 229 Powell Lane.
The event is open to both experienced backgammon players and guests learning the game for the first time. The social is centered on casual table play, with guests invited to sit down, join a game, and take part in a familiar part of Greek café culture.
Advanced registration is encouraged through the festival’s featured events page. Guests attending the backgammon social will receive 15 percent off food at the festival, and complimentary valet parking will be available.
Please confirm event details with the organizers before attending, as dates, times, locations, and registration information may change.
