St. Petersburg, FL – John Catsimatidis Sr., a major figure in New York City’s business world, broke ground yesterday on his project The Residences at 400 Central in St. Petersburg, Florida. The 46-story condominium will be the tallest building on the Gulf Coast of Florida. It is also the first residential project that Catsimatidis will be building in Florida.

Mayor Rick Kriseman officially broke ground yesterday at the luxury condominium tower’s construction site at 400 Central Avenue in St. Petersburg. Numerous community and business leaders joined Catsimatidis and Mayor Kriseman to celebrate the kickoff of construction for the luxurious tower.

“St. Petersburg is such a special community, and we are honored to help contribute to the growing vibrancy of this wonderful city,” said John Catsimatidis Sr. “The pace of reservations already far exceeds our expectations, and I am immensely proud of the development team that is bringing this project to life. This is a community where I have had family ties for more than 30 years, and I can hardly wait to greet our future residents as they move into their new homes in the sky.”

The Residences at 400 Central will soar 515 feet above downtown St. Petersburg’s vibrant Central Avenue, capturing panoramic views from Tampa Bay to the Gulf of Mexico. The full-service residential tower will consist of 301 condominium homes with one to four-bedroom floorplans and a selection of custom penthouse homes. Residents of 400 Central will have access to more than 35,000 square feet of modern, private indoor and outdoor amenities.

400 Central will comprise an entire city block in St. Petersburg, bordered by Central Avenue, 1st Avenue South, 4th Street South, and 5th Street South – ringed with local restaurants, shops, and galleries.

Just two weeks ago, Red Apple and the exclusive real estate broker on the project, Michael Saunders & Company, opened a state-of-the-art sales gallery that features interactive displays and advanced digital systems providing visitors with an opportunity to immerse themselves in the 400 Central lifestyle experience. Private appointments allow potential buyers to browse floorplans and select the residence type, floor, view direction, and design with pre-construction pricing. An ultra-realistic scale model of the building stands at the front of the Sales Gallery facing Central Avenue.

Designed by an internationally renowned architectural firm, Arquitectonica, the Residences at 400 Central feature spacious floorplans with high-end interior finishes, wrap-around balconies, and magnificent views. Pre-construction pricing starts at $800,000 for the condominiums.

Residents of 400 Central will have exclusive access to a Sky Lounge Observatory located on the 46th floor, offering panoramic views from Tampa Bay to the Gulf of Mexico. This private amenity floor features both interior and exterior lounge spaces.

Other owner amenities include a fitness and wellness center, upscale lounge, co-working space, boardroom, theater room, and a private dining room and entertainment area. Outdoor amenities on the 7th-floor amenities deck include an expansive rooftop terrace with resort-style pool and spa, putting green, bocce court, outdoor kitchen, dog walking area, and fire pit.
