Chamber Music Recital Opens Season for New Jersey Federation

Chamber music recital with Alexandros Gavriilidis-Petrin (violin), Stamatis Vlachodimitris (piano), and Stergios Theodoridis (cello), presented by the Hellenic Federation of New Jersey

The Hellenic Federation of New Jersey is opening its 2025–26 cultural season not with speeches or banquets, but with music. On Sunday, September 7, 2025, at 2:30 pm, the Federation’s Youth Committee will host a chamber music recital at Channing Hall, Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Princeton (50 Cherry Hill Rd., Princeton, NJ).

The concert brings together three young Greek classical musicians who live and study across the United States. Stamatis Vlachodimitris, a pianist based in New Jersey and recipient of the Federation’s scholarship, will perform alongside Alexandros Gavriilidis-Petrin, a violinist from San Francisco, and Stergios Theodoridis, a cellist now active in Indiana.

The program will feature works by Prokofiev, Shostakovich, and Kancheli, highlighting the trio’s artistry and the Federation’s commitment to supporting the next generation of Greek musicians.

Admission is free and open to the public, with a suggested donation of $10 to benefit the Federation’s cultural and educational programming, including its scholarship fund.

“This is a way to bring our community together around music while giving young musicians a stage,” said Youth Committee chair Nikitas Tabakis in the Federation’s announcement.

The recital offers the community an opportunity to hear Greek musicians at the start of their careers and share an afternoon of music together.
