Cinnaminson, NJ – On Saturday evening, the United Chios Society of Philadelphia Koraes Chapter 16, hosted its annual dance, that filled the dance floor with Chiotes from across the Delaware Valley.
Proceeds from the event go towards two scholarships, Chios Liberation Memorial Scholarship and Chios Society “Koraes” Scholarship, that are awarded to students of Chiotiko decent annually.
“What we’re trying to do is keep everyone together, from different parts of Greece, “ said Danny Pithis, President of the Chios Society. That was evident at this, the fourth annual dance. People of all ages attended the sold out affair, that was especially well attended by the Greek youth again.
“Every year we try and grow the organization. But were also about help in the community, by giving at our annual toy drive, and we invite others to join”, said event chairman Hercules Mimaros. The Chios Society has grown in recent years, and continues to impact the Greek-American community with its philanthropic initiatives.
