His was a life well lived. Chris served in the Pacific in World War II. He was one of the original members of the Saint Thomas Greek Orthodox Church community. Chris was a lifetime member of Camden Chapter 69 of AHEPA. As such he was also an original member of its American Hellenic Orthodox Center in Camden where, along with others, he led the way in the purchase of 615 Mercer Street and the construction of our church. Chris served the Greek school board for many years. He chaired many events, Cadillac raffles, and community anniversary dances. Not satisfied, Chris continued his contributions beyond our community. He was a Past District Governor of AHEPA in New Jersey and Delaware. He led the district AHEPA in many endeavors. He was in charge of its scholarships, assisted with its involvement with our community response to the invasion of Cyprus with the raising of funds and aid and was one of the creators and leaders of the AHEPA Fifth District Cancer Research Foundation. In this capacity, he further excelled as a board officer and tirelessly assisted with its Cancer Canister program at restaurants.

Chris was an integral component of the Federation of Hellenic Societies of Philadelphia and the Greater Delaware Valley, having served the Federation as its treasurer and assisted in all of its functions for decades. A member of the VFW, our Kali Parea and almost every organization here in our Saint Thomas, throughout the Delaware Valley and beyond with AHEPA, Chris Sevast was a unique person and his kind will never be replicated.
