Cyprus showcased halloumi, Commandaria, and other food and beverage products at the Summer Fancy Food Show 2026 in New York, one of North America’s major specialty food trade events.
The Cyprus Trade Center New York represented the Republic of Cyprus with a national pavilion at the show, held June 28 to 30 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. The pavilion was located in the International Section and introduced visitors, buyers, and food industry representatives to products connected to Cyprus’ culinary traditions and export market.
Among the featured items were halloumi, which carries Protected Designation of Origin status, and Commandaria, the historic Cypriot dessert wine often described as one of the world’s oldest named wines still in production.

Kyriakos Pogiatzis, Consul General of the Republic of Cyprus in New York, was among those who visited the Cyprus National Pavilion, according to the Cyprus Trade Center New York.
The participation was part of an effort to help Cypriot producers reach new buyers and strengthen the presence of Cypriot products in the United States.
“The Summer Fancy Food Show provides an exceptional opportunity to present the quality and uniqueness of Cypriot products to one of the world’s most competitive food markets,” said Aristos Constantine, Commercial Counselor of the Cyprus Trade Center New York.
The Cyprus Trade Center New York operates under the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Cyprus and supports the promotion of Cypriot products and business activity in the United States.
