Upper Darby, PA – Back-to-Back: Danny’s Boys Repeat as PGBL Champions
A dynasty may be taking shape in the PGBL. For the second straight year, Danny’s Boys are champions, cementing their place at the top of the league with an 84–76 win over the Kings on Thursday night at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church.
Led by league MVP Pete Kathopoulos, the Boys overcame a 12-point first-half deficit, fighting their way back to tie the game by halftime. In the second half, they found their rhythm, took control, and never let go of the lead.
It was a statement of resilience and experience—and another showcase of offensive firepower. Costa Nikolos and Kathopoulos combined for 49 points, setting the tone and pace for a team that refused to let the moment slip.
The Kings battled hard and looked dominant early, but in the end, Danny’s Boys proved why they’re still the team to beat.
