Cosmos Philly visited St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox church on Good Friday and at the 1st Pascha on Saturday morning where Father Nectarios performed a rare first-time tradition.
On Saturday evening, we visited Evangelismos Of The Theotokos, Greek Orthodox Church on Bustleton Avenue in Philadelphia for a midnight mass that filled the church. There, Rev. Father Prokopios Nikas, Protopresbyter led his parishioners in both Greek and English, singing “Christos Anesti” (Christ has risen”). Father Prokopios Nikas, concluded the outdoor portion of his service, yelling out “God Bless “America” and God Bless Greece.”
