On the 29th of June 2021, the Federation of Hellenic-American Societies of Philadelphia and the Greater Delaware Valley had its last meeting for 2020-2021 at the St. Thomas Greek Orthodox Church in Cherry Hill, NJ.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Federation was proud to honor the VR Fr. Christoforos for his contributions and support over the past years and his recent elevation as chancellor by his Eminence Archbishop Elpidoforos.

A major meeting topic was the transformation of the Federation to a non-profit organization and the future steps that will be taken towards this direction.

The dates for the “Eleftheria” banquet and the Greek Independence Day Parade were also discussed, aiming to schedule them both on the 19th and 20th of March 2022. Once the reservations are completed and permissions by the city of Philadelphia confirmed, the Federation will formally announce the dates – later this year.

Last, the attendees proposed and agreed to continue the administration of the Federation with the same members serving on the board through 2021-2022. For a list of these officers, please visit hellenicfed.org.

The next Federation meeting will be scheduled in early fall. If you’re interested in getting involved, please reach out via social media or email.
