A new exhibition highlighting the work of 19 Greek-American women artists has opened at the Consulate General of Greece in New York, offering visitors a look at contemporary art shaped by life between Greece and the United States.
Titled “Greek-American Women Artists,” the exhibition opened on March 4, 2026, at the Consulate’s gallery space on East 79th Street in Manhattan, where it will remain on view through March 31.
Curated by Dr. Thalia Vrachopoulos, the exhibition brings together artists working in a variety of styles and media, from painting to mixed media and other contemporary visual forms. While each artist approaches her work differently, the exhibition reflects themes often associated with the Greek diaspora, including identity, cultural memory, heritage, and the relationship between life in the United States and roots in Greece.
The exhibition was presented under the auspices of the Consulate General of Greece in New York, led by Consul General Iphigenia Kanara, as part of broader efforts to highlight the cultural presence of the Greek diaspora in the United States.
For visitors, the exhibition offers the opportunity to encounter a wide range of artistic voices that draw inspiration from both sides of the Atlantic. Many of the works explore personal experiences, family histories, and the evolving role of women in contemporary society.
Participating artists include Eozen Agopian, Elaine Angelopoulos, Laura Donson, Angie Drakopoulos, Morfy Gikas, Zoe Keramea, Artemis Kotioni, Eirini Linardaki, Despo Magoni, Nefeli Massia, Despina Myriokefalitaki-Zografos, Antonia Papatzanaki, Ioanna Pantazopoulou, Marita Pappa, Anna Samara, Triada Samaras, Dimitra Skandali, Lydia Venieri, and Fotini Vurgaropoulou.
The exhibition is open to the public at the Consulate General of Greece in New York, 69 East 79th Street, and will run through March 31, 2026.
