The Hellenic-American Chamber of Commerce elected its leadership for the 2026–2027 term during its annual meeting in New York on July 1.
Eftihia Pylarinou-Piper of Red Apple Group will remain president, while Nick Katsanos of Seward & Kissel LLP will serve as chairman.
The other executive officers are Peter T. Bazos of Southern Star Shipping Co., Inc., executive vice president; Daniel A. Tadros of The American P&I Club, vice president; Antony Contomichalos of MacArthur Capital, Inc., treasurer; and Leonidas Tzonis of the Hellenic American Union and Hellenic American University, secretary.
During the meeting, Pylarinou-Piper reviewed the Chamber’s work over the past year. Contomichalos presented a financial report that the organization said reflected stable finances and continued growth.
The year included the 73rd Annual Person of the Year Gala, held November 14, 2025, at Cipriani Wall Street. The sold-out event honored Dr. John Coustas, president and CEO of Danaos Corporation, and featured Greek recording artist Anna Vissi.
The Chamber also continued its work in the maritime sector through the 32nd Annual HACC–NACC Shipping Conference, organized with the Norwegian-American Chamber of Commerce. Held February 10, 2026, the conference drew participants from shipping, finance, insurance, law, and related industries.
Beyond its industry events, the Chamber organized programs for Greek Americans dealing with tax and consular matters.
A tax forum addressed obligations in Greece, investment opportunities, and incentives for people considering working or retiring there. Representatives of Greece’s tax administration and other specialists participated.
A separate session with the Consulate General of Greece in New York provided guidance on citizenship, passports, legal documents, and other consular services. The Chamber also organized a forum on artificial intelligence in business and medicine and held its annual Vasilopita gathering with representatives from 24 Greek-American organizations.
The Chamber strengthened its formal ties with Greece on May 18, when it signed a memorandum of understanding with the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce in Athens. The agreement establishes a framework for cooperation on bilateral trade, investment, entrepreneurship, and institutional ties between Greece and the United States.
The Chamber’s advisory board includes John Catsimatidis, Dr. John Coustas, Angeliki Frangou, Peter C. Georgiopoulos, William Rudin, John C. Stratakis, and Dr. Nikolas P. Tsakos. Clay Maitland and Nancy Papaioannou will serve as co-chairs. The Chamber’s complete board roster is available online.
